Today I had lunch with my cousin Abby and her 3 year old son Alaster (Aidan, the 7 year old, was at school) in downtown Mountain View at a Japanese noodle house (not Ryowa, Maru Ichi I think). It was awesome. I had the miso noodles and I realized how much I miss seaweed? I know, so random. But the soup was flavorful without being overwhelmingly salty, and the noodles were a good texture and consistency. Yum! Alaster, on the other hand, didn't seem to enjoy it as much because he was busy running around, climbing things and soaking the soup up with paper napkins and squeezing the liquid all over the table. Oh, to be three again. Unfortunately, it's not as fun when you're the mother. I don't know how Abby does it, raising two young and rambunctious kids...AND she is thinking about getting back into law while she's waiting for her novel to take off and while she works on her second (unrelated) novel. Intense. I am impressed, but what else do you expect from a Rhodes Scholar from Harvard undergrad and Columbia Law? I, on the other hand, am much less ambitious. I wish I could just do papercuttings all day and somehow sustain myself while still having time to run an errand or two... for instance, today, I felt pretty accomplished although I didn't do much. I got the security tag removed from my new sweater from Club Monaco (shame, shame! basic policy: remember the security sensor!) and returned an ugly sweater my aunt got me for xmas for store credit. Maybe it's not completely atrocious, but it's prettty bad, right?
Then I drove my mom out to a nursery to pick out water-friendly plants with which to color the landscape for our new house. I am really glad the parents are being more eco-friendly/aware! :)
This nursery is really cool. The people are so nice and super knowledgeable about their plants. They were constantly working to water, trim or repot the plants, and they had such a variety too! It is a self-serving nursery, unless you need to place a special order. You can also put specific plants on hold and pick them up in a few days time. Lovely. :)
I like the flat pans of moss, creepers and other sprawling grasses. Some of the moss-like grass had star-like flowers growing in their midst. It looks like some of these belong in some mystical clearing, carpeting the cool ground with sunlight flashing over it and catching the tiny blossoms. Makes me think of elves and unicorns or something!
Hello I want to congratulate to them by its site of the Web of the excellent looks like entertained and very good to me it elaborated.
